A diminished seventh chord is a diminished triad (which has a root note, a minor third, and a diminished fifth) with a seventh interval added above the root:

A C♭dim7 has an added diminished seventh: C♭ – E♭♭* – G♭♭ – B♭♭♭**
◊ Half-Diminished 7th
A C♭ø has an added minor seventh: C♭ – E♭♭ – G♭♭ – B♭♭
• (also called a “minor seventh flat five”)
◊ Diminished Major 7th
A C♭°M7 has a major seventh: C♭ – E♭♭ – G♭♭ – B♭

** a triple-flat lowers a note by three half-steps. B♭♭♭ is enharmonically equal to A♭.
