MIDI Pitch Numbers

MIDI, or “Musical Instrument Digital Interface,” is a protocol used to translate data provided by a synthesizer or MIDI controller into musical sounds through a program.

MIDI can convey microtones (half of a semitone) if .5 is added to a note number; the tone between C4 and C4♯ is 60.5.
