- a1 is A440 (see concert pitch)
English Variation of Helmholtz Notation
The English system is almost exactly like Helmholtz pitch, except in the lowest octaves:
- AAA is Aii in Helmholtz; AA is Ai
The rest of the keys are labeled similarly, but usually use numbers instead of primes (′′) or letters (iii). Note the switch from capital to lowercase letters at bass C.
